T-Mobile try to ween Iphone customers fo platform to move to 4G

February 15th, 2012

This story has been doing the rounds for a while but I think it warrants a discussion. It has to do with non 4g LTE devices and T-Mobile. The story goes that company eyes only document was released on the web which outlines why T-Mobile offers such a low performance when customer who sign up for T-Mobile with apple device such as a 3,3gs or 4. The document itself has been doing the rounds and is freely available to view. The crux of the debate is that T-Mobile are trying to persuade existing customers that the anything less than 4g is limited and not giving you the customer the best deal. So basically saying that he existing edge technology is vastly inferior and should be dumped for a the cheaper 4g devices (in their eyes) which I suppose is true.

But the point I’d like to make is that’s its not up to the network provider to assume this there are enough tech sites, magazines, media programs and a whole wealth of information for the customer to make a decision by themselves. I suppose T-Mobile look at this purely from a business perspective if all the customer used an android smartphone this could cut costs without having to provide expensive support for different OS.
